MRI:

When you make your appointment, please tell us if you are pregnant, have aneurysm clips or cardiac pacemaker or defibrillator, have a history of metal fragments or shrapnel, or have a drug infusion device.

Additionally please indicate if you have had recent surgery. If you are over 65 and/or have a history of kidney or renal disease please tell the practice immediately.

CT SCAN:
ABDOMINAL/PELVIC EXAMINATIONS WITH CONTRAST: Nothing to eat or drink for 4 hours prior to the examination or as otherwise instructed.

X-RAY:
Please inform the technologist if you are pregnant

Ultrasound:
For an abdominal Ultrasound nothing to eat or drink after midnight, you may take medications. for Renal Ultrasound, nothing to eat or drink two hours prior to exam. Pelvic Ultrasound--drink 8 ounces of water one hour before exam, do not void.
